[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section bb_built=”1″ fullwidth=”off” inner_shadow=”off” parallax=”off” module_id=”builder”][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][et_pb_number_counter _builder_version=”3.0.90″ number=”1″ percent_sign=”off” background_layout=”light” number_text_color=”#7ebec5″ number_font=”|700|||||||” number_font_size=”80″ /][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”3_4″][et_pb_text background_layout=”light” module_alignment=”center” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” background_size=”initial” _builder_version=”3.0.90″]

Scan Your Site!

Hackers scan your site every day. It’s true. So it’s about time you see a little of what they see. This is the first scan that a lot of hackers send out in masses. Meaning that they send an automated program and if there is any weakness then they will dig deeper to hack your site.

Use the tool at Hacker Target to scan your WordPress website:

https://hackertarget.com/wordpress-security-scan/

Now, most people will look at this and not understand how someone can use these things against your webiste. I will do a scan of my site and walk you through on how to be more invisible to hackers.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_image src=”https://www.terryculkin.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Screenshot-2017-12-05-15.38.31.png” url_new_window=”off” show_in_lightbox=”off” animation_direction=”right” animation_style=”slide” animation_duration=”500ms” animation_intensity_slide=”10%” show_bottom_space=”on” _builder_version=”3.0.90″ use_overlay=”off” always_center_on_mobile=”on” force_fullwidth=”off” /][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.90″ background_layout=”light”]

Does Yours Look Like Mine?

Hey, let’s compare. You see my scan above and probabbly don’t understand what this means. You looked at yours and they might be a little diffrent. Below I get into the details of what it all means and how a hacker can use this against you. Again, this might not how they hacker your site, but the more information you give to a hacker the easier they can hack your website.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”1_2″][et_pb_blurb _builder_version=”3.0.91″ title=”WordPress Version” url_new_window=”off” use_icon=”on” font_icon=”%%320%%” use_circle=”off” use_circle_border=”off” icon_placement=”left” use_icon_font_size=”off” background_layout=”light” header_level=”h2″]

Sometimes All they need is the Version of WordPress to know your site hasn’t been updated. Many hackers release bots out as soon as a WordPress or plugins have a known problem. People aren’t quick on updating, so if this says anything then your site is very easy to hack and can become a target.

[/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_blurb _builder_version=”3.0.91″ title=”Server Information ” url_new_window=”off” use_icon=”on” font_icon=”%%96%%” use_circle=”off” use_circle_border=”off” icon_placement=”left” use_icon_font_size=”off” background_layout=”light” header_level=”h2″]

This is gold for a hacker. If you have your website information public then they know your IP address, your hosting company and can even know what versions of software are running on the servers. Mine above says Cloudflare, because it’s blocking hackers from getting my host and server information. The less a hacker knows the less damage they can do.

[/et_pb_blurb][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″][et_pb_blurb _builder_version=”3.0.91″ title=”Google Safe Browser” url_new_window=”off” use_icon=”on” font_icon=”%%82%%” use_circle=”off” use_circle_border=”off” icon_placement=”left” use_icon_font_size=”off” background_layout=”light” header_level=”h2″]

This should always be GOOD. If this isn’t a GREEN GOOD then your have a hacked site and you are blocked from Google. Very few sites I have worked with have had this issue, but if you do, it’s most likely your site was not secure enough. Many people who have gotten this, get it again because they aren’t properly cleaned and then secured.

[/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_blurb _builder_version=”3.0.91″ title=”Plugins” url_new_window=”off” use_icon=”on” font_icon=”%%96%%” use_circle=”off” use_circle_border=”off” icon_placement=”left” use_icon_font_size=”off” background_layout=”light” header_level=”h2″]

On your scan, you might see the plugins that are installed on your website. This again is great for a hacker and bad for you. If they are scanning your site they can see if anything is out of date. They can also save that data and come back when vulnerabilities are discovered. As you can see on my scan there are no plugins. But yes, I have plugins installed! 🙂

[/et_pb_blurb][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section bb_built=”1″ fullwidth=”off” inner_shadow=”off” parallax=”off” module_id=”builder”][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][et_pb_number_counter _builder_version=”3.0.90″ number=”1″ percent_sign=”off” background_layout=”light” number_text_color=”#7ebec5″ number_font=”|700|||||||” number_font_size=”80″ /][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”3_4″][et_pb_text background_layout=”light” module_alignment=”center” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” background_size=”initial” _builder_version=”3.0.91″]

Two More Overlooked items!

Scrolling down you will see two more items that are very importatn.
